  • Where can I get groceries?

    There’s a couple options for groceries in the immediate neighbourhood or very close by.  There’s a Metro located at the Westlake complex at Parklawn and Lake Shore, which is quite good for the size.  The Sobey’s on Queensway is accessible through the Street Car tunnel at Lake Shore around 2067 Lake Shore.  There’s also a ValuMart situated close by in Mimico as well.  If you just need a quick fix then there are two 24-hour Rabba’s at each end of HBS.

  • How can I get downtown by transit?

    There are a couple of ways to get downtown by transit.  The Streetcar can take you downtown along Lake Shore and Queensway to Queen St. W. and into downtown – this will take around 45 minutes.  There’s also a shuttle bus (or you can walk if you’re on the West side of Humber Bay Shores) to the Mimico Go Station that will get you down to Union Station in less than 10 minutes.  The Park Lawn Go is in the works and will be a major addition to the areas transit woes.

  • Where can I get my haircut?

    There are a few local barbers and hairdressers to get you looking good.  If you’re looking for a Barber there’s Distinguished Gents, Onyx and Upper Managment.  While there’s a few hairdressers/salons as well;

  • Where can I go out for a sit-down dinner?

    As the area continues to develop, there are more and more places to go out for sit-down dinner or lunch.  Eden Trattoria and recently re-launched Social House are two of the more restaurant style options while Firken on the Bay is more Pub-style.  There is also a new Scaddabush opening soon along Marine Parade.  There are a few more newer options coming shortly as well as some of the newer condos are being completed.

  • Where can I find an "off-leash" dog park?

    There are a couple of good options for off-lease dog parks in the area including a real “hidden gem” just along the waterfront.  Just East past Palace Pier (and before Windermere) there’s an off-lease dog park just off the waterfront between Lake Shore Blvd. W. and the Lake.  There’s also another park located at the very south end of Humber Bay Park East – this is great spot surrounded by water with great views!

  • Is there a Vet in the neighbourhood?

    There a couple of options for Vet’s in the immediate neighbourhood and close by.  Marina Animal Hospital is just located in Mimico not too far to the West.  While Humber Bay Animal Hospital is situated in the base of 80 Marine Parade just off of Lake Shore Blvd.

  • Where's the closest hospital located?

    The closet hospital is St. Joseph Hospital, located on the Queensway just before Roncesvalles Ave. The is a full hospital and offers the full-array of services including Emergency Room and maternity ward.

  • Where can I get a coffee?

    There are quite a few options for coffee from the boutique coffee shop style to the major chains, its all available in the Shores.  There’s a few boutique style options along the courtyard including Lola’s and …. Rabba serves some decent coffee and they’re 24hrs.  While Starbucks can be found inside the Metro, while if you need your Tim’s fix you can find a small kiosk at the ESSO Station or a full restaurant just up Park Lawn past the highway entrance – right beside a full-sized Starbucks!

  • Is there an LCBO or Beer Store around?

    There are couple of options for beer or liquor in the area. You can visit one of the larger grocery stores like Metro and Sobeys or there’s a LCBO located in both of the same complex’s as well.

  • Where does the bike path/trail lead to?

    The bike path and trail can be used to get all the way Downtown and beyond to the East and with some of the recent improvements to the Western part of the trail you can now access the trail and take it all the way to Oakville.

  • Is there a library close by?

    There is quite a nice Library in Mimico on Station Road as well as another branch located on Park Lawn just north of the Queensway.

  • Is there a place for visitors to park?

    Almost all condo buildings have a few designated “visitor parking” spots set aside for guests. While there are a few large parking lots in Humber Bay Park as well as paid parking along Marine Parade. There is also some paid parking located at 80 Marine Parade Drive and some free parking for guest of Westlake shopping area.
